“No one travels to Mongolia for the food”
Even thought we weren`t always entirely satisfied with the food at Safe Haven, in comparison to mongolia we ate like kings and queens. Therefore, we decided to post the recipe to one of our Safe Haven favorites, pumpkin curry. This recipe was found on the internet so it is not exactly the same, and we never got anything as fancy as beef, but it looks close enough.
Ingredients:
750g Beef (optional we think) 2 Large onions
500g Pumpkin 5 Large cloves of garlic
2 teaspoons chopped ginger 1 teaspoon turmeric (gurkemeie)
1 teaspoon chilli powder 8 tablespoons light sesame oil
1 cup water 1 1/2 salt to taste
you just grind/process the spices garlic and onion to a paste, fry the paste then add a little water until it is golden brown. Then fried with the meat, add the water then the pumpkin, serve with your favorite rice and POW, you will hopefully have a mega delicious burmese dinner.
